Eye to Eye

Salisbury Library is hosting an exhibition of photographs by Jill Kennington who was a model in the 60s for the great fashion photographers such as Avedon, Bailey, Parkinson, Newton, Duffy and Lichfield.  She took up the art herself in the 80s and a number of her portraits of famous people are on show including Robert Bolt, Andy Wharhol, Elizabeth Frink, Omar Shariff.  Her work is
Included on the National Portrait Gallery collections.

There is also a selection of her atmospheric and often haunting landscapes.

The pictures are interesting but I found the lack of information frustrating and I would've liked to have seen all the work framed rather than the two walls of mounted work.  Well worth a visit and take a look at the impressive fashion photographs and galleries on her website www.jillkennington.co.uk.
