On Friday it was another lovely day and I wanted to go to somewhere new preferably near the sea. About 20 minutes away is Hamble-le-Rice, a pretty village on the River Hamble. I had to look up the significance of 'le rice' and it means 'the rise' - the church in the centre is 50 feet above sea level.
It is linked to Winchester through William of Wykeham who bought the land for the College. In more recent times it has been a centre for aviation and a maritime centre, today being on of the largest yachting centres in the country.
The bright pink Warsash Ferry has been running since the 16th century.
It was great to have such a variety of subject to photograph !
